There are two ways that products can be published, either individually, or en-masse
Publishing Products Individually
Under Sales > Products > Products you can tell whether a product is published by checking the "Go to Website" icon for it. If it is Red, then the product is not published. If it is green, then it is:
If you click the "Go to website" button, you will be taken to the ecommerce page for that product
You will see in the top-right of the page there is an "Unpublished" switch. Change this to Published to expose the product on the website
Publishing Products en-masse
Obviously publishing products one-by-one is a slow process. You can publish multiple products as follows:
1. On the main products list, enable the "eCommerce Category" and "Is Published" fields
2. Using the tickboxes on the Left of the list, select the products you wish to publish
3. In the "Is Published" column for one of the products, click the tick box to set it
4. Confirm that you want to publish all the selected products
And you're done! :)
You can use the same technique to mass-update eCommerce categories for products
