The standard Odoo Customer Portal gives customer access to certain documents, such as Quotes, Sales Orders and Invoices
To grant a customer Portal Access, go to the contact that you wish to grant access to, and click Actions -> Grant Portal Access
On the screen that appears, you can amend the contact's email address. This is the email address that will receive an invitation to access the customer portal
Clicking Apply above will grant the contact access and send them an invitation via email with instructions on how to access the portal.
Once the customer has activated their account, they will be able to see various documents assigned to them, such as Quotes, Sales Orders and Invoices
