Disabling / Removing a Portal User

Sometimes you may need to remove or disable a Portal User (for example they have left the organisation)


You will find when trying to delete the Contact in the Address Book you may get one of the following errors:




(or this error, which we will be improving in a future release!)




Before you can remove the contact, you'll need to remove the associated Portal User


Archiving (disabling + hiding) the Portal User


Go to Users & Settings -> Users





Filter the Users list to show Portal Users, and search for the user you want to remove





On the user, you should then Archive it (in most cases, as they might have data associated with them). Archiving a user will prevent them from logging in.





Once the User is archived, you can then go ahead and archive the Contact, using the link shown on the user screen (in the blue box)
